Spring Outlets
These species are entirely restricted to the immediate vicinity of springs. The riffle beetle, an endangered species, is found only near the spring opening where aquifer water with a constant temperature upwells to the surface.

Several of these species have adapted body parts that allow them to work into tiny spaces in the rock crevices or root mats to graze.
